How to run your old PHP 5.6 or 5.7 website with old Mysql and MariaDB database. 

This mostly happens when you have developed a website before 2020 and don’t have any changes in the website and don’t want to invest to update the website, So in this scenario, your website is compatible with the old server.

We will show you how to install Xampp in Linux and Install Old Xampp for Old PHP and Server In AlmaLinux 9 and run an old website on the old PHP and server even though your operating system and webserver have been updated.

Note: Dont update the Xampp application to the new version at any cost

PROCEDURE

1. First, install Almalinux in your VPS/Dedicated hosting or on your desktop

Almalinux OS –https://almalinux.org/blog/almalinux-9-now-available/

Oldd XAMPP- https://sourceforge.net/projects/xampp/files/XAMPP%20Linux/5.6.40/

2. If you install the Almalinux minimal version, convert to the Graphical version.

3 . To convert to a graphical version run the below comment in the Terminal with the root user

1. yum groupinstall "Server with GUI"

2. systemctl set-default graphical

3. reboot

4.  After that open your VPS or Almalinux graphical version.

4. sudo dnf install epel-release
5. sudo dnf install p7zip p7zip-plugins cabextract

6. sudo dnf install libnsl
